Boatowners Policy
Your boat is probably one of your most treasured possessions, and it is sometimes the most vulnerable - at risk with storms, strong winds, theft, and accidents. A boatowners or watercraft policy will shelter your boat and provide protection for you and your passengers.
Boatowners liability coverage protects you if you are legally liable for injuries to other people either on or off your boat, or if you accidentally cause damage to anyone else’s property. Coverage for physical damage to your boat may be purchased for the full value of your boat, motor, and transport trailer. Many insurance companies also include coverages in their policies to provide protection for your equipment and accessories, as well as emergency service or towing, whether on land or water.
As an optional coverage, most policies offer the consumer the choice of purchasing additional coverage for items like fishing equipment or water skis and water sports equipment.
Recreational Vehicles
If you own recreational vehicles like ATVs, golf carts, or motorcycles, you may not have adequate coverage for your liability and possibly no physical damage coverage by any of your personal insurance policies. These items are excluded under auto policies and coverage under your homeowners is extremely limited, if coverage is provided at all.
